About
The Association of Garda Superintendents is the professional representative body for Superintendents in An Garda Síochána, Ireland’s National Police Service.
We aim to speak for and represent the views of Superintendents at all relevant fora, to contribute to, influence and help shape policing policies at the strategic level, to provide our members with help and advice in relation to their conditions of service, health and welfare.
Superintendents are key senior officers in An Garda Síochána, managing Garda Districts as well as National Teams Units.

A message from our President

Welcome to the Website of the Association of Garda Superintendents, which is the representative body for Superintendents in An Garda Síochána, the national police service of Ireland.
Superintendents hold a key role in the organisation and have numerous core responsibilities which involve managing, and more importantly leading An Garda Síochána throughout its operational and functional duties. The Association of Garda Superintendents is responsible for advocating and pursuing the interests of Superintendents in respect of their pay, conditions and most importantly their welfare. We work closely with Garda management, the Department of Justice, the Workplace Relations Commission and numerous key partners in addressing all matters presenting to achieve collaborative and mutually beneficial outcomes.
We constantly highlight information on issues of interest on our website to facilitate information sharing about the key elements of the work completed by the Association of Garda Superintendents representing our membership. We feature news items and updates on the front facing aspect of the website for your interest.
Our Membership can enjoy access to a dedicated member’s area which provides for up to date information on the work being carried out by the Association on their behalf, along with other useful information pertinent to their rank. We are committed to appropriately, robustly and respectfully pursue pay, conditions and welfare issues of all members of the Association of Garda Superintendents and continue to do so.
We welcome feedback, ideas and suggestions to continually improve, enhance and progress our service delivery.
