A function was held on the 26th of September 2025 to mark the occasion of the retirement of Detective Superintendent Joe Moore.  Joe was NEC Member and the Association would like to thank him for all his hard work in that regard.  We wish Joe and his family well and all the best for the future in his retirement!  Pictured is our General Secretary Mick Comyns making a presentation to Joe on behalf of the Association.

Association of Garda Superintendents Delegates Conference 2025

On the 24th of September 2025, the Association of Garda Superintendents held its annual Delegates Conference at the Knightsbrook Hotel in Trim.  The Minister for Justice Jim O’Callaghan and the Garda Commissioner Justin Kelly both address conference on the day.  The theme of this years conference was ‘Stronger Together’.

A coffee morning was held on the 17th of September at Walter Scott House to celebrate the retirement of Detective Superintendent Ken Keelan after 42 years of dedicated service to An Garda Siochana.  Superintendent Frank Ferry (NEC Member) was in attendance and made a presentation on behalf of the Association.  We wish Ken and his Family all the best for the future in his retirement and thank him for his service.

On the 12th of September, Members of the National Executive met with Commissioner Kelly.  This was a positive and engaging meeting with the Garda Commissioner.   Matters relating to the Association and our members was discussed with the Commissioner.

On today’s date, our President Colm Murphy and General Secretary Mick Comyns attended a function on the occasion of the retirement of Garda Commissioner Harris.  Colm made a presentation to Commissioner Harris on behalf of the Association of Garda Superintendents.  We wish Commissioner Harris and his family best wishes in his retirement and thank him for his service to An Garda Síochána.

On Friday 22 August, 154 Gardaí were attested at a ceremony at the Garda College.  Our General Secretary Mick Comyns was in attendance representing the Association.  We looking forwarded to working with all new Gardaí and wish them every success for the future.
